Nexight Group is happy to welcome Stephen Bolotin to the team as our new Strategy Consultant. Stephen has an MPP from Georgetown University and strong professional interest in innovative technology development. We sat down with Stephen to ask him a few questions about himself, his views, and his new role at Nexight.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I have an extensive background in the energy, defense, agriculture, and infrastructure technology sectors especially at the point where industry and government intersect. With a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, I strive to facilitate innovation, problem solving, and consensus building among diverse stakeholders tackling big challenges like climate change, cybersecurity, and economic development. My work allows me to collaborate with industry leaders, government officials, and university researchers to move the needle on ambitious ideas.
This passion to make a difference attracted me to the Capital Region seven years ago. I’m originally from San Diego, CA, and when I’m not trying to save the world, I enjoy cycling, traveling, and indulging my love of learning.
Q: Why did you decide to join Nexight Group?
A: I admire how Nexight operates at the nexus of many critical issues from national security, infrastructure resiliency, scientific innovation, to public health. Nexight has curated a culture of professionals striving to do good and do well, and it feels like I fit right in.
Q: Why did you pursue a career in professional consulting?
A: It seems so easy to be a part of the problem rather than the solution. Entropy tends to pull us in this direction. I feel a deep personal onus to examine how I contribute to one or the other and to strive toward self-improvement that spurs positive change around me. Professional consulting provides the widest breadth of opportunities to contribute meaningfully to clients spanning the public and private sectors and pursue innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about your new role at Nexight?
A: I am most looking forward to working with talented people passionate about what they do.
