Nexight Group is happy to welcome Karthik Ramesh to the team as a new Research and Communications Analyst. Karthik holds a BA in psychology and has a diverse background in both academic and corporate research. We sat down with Karthik to ask him a few questions about himself, his views, and his new role at Nexight.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I am a behavioralist by nature and a researcher by training. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, specifically concentrating on the application of Self Determination Theory to consumer behavior. Beyond my major, I’ve also done research in everything from epidemiology, cell biology, and chemistry to economics, history, religion, and philosophy. For me, every topic is as exciting as the next and I’m always looking to learn something new every day.
Outside of research, I enjoy trying new cultural experiences and foods, playing tennis, and developing my skills as a self-proclaimed movie critic.
Q: Why did you decide to join Nexight Group?
A: Nexight puts itself into the heart of challenges faced by various industries and produces innovative and inspiring solutions driven by passionate learning and dedicated research. I can’t think of a better place to work than one where my natural interests are encouraged and supported.
Q: Why did you pursue a career in professional consulting?
A: As members of society, I feel it’s our duty to understand and improve upon what we encounter each day, so that the next day can be that much better for everyone. Being consultants means that we can become well versed in the mechanisms and challenges of a wide variety of fields, which in turn qualifies us to help generate impactful solutions to those challenges.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about your new role at Nexight?
A: I’m looking forward to learning from and working with such a multi-talented and passionate team of professionals.
