Nexight Group is happy to welcome Beza Bisrat to the team as a new Research and Communications Analyst. Beza has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and a strong professional interest in data collection and analysis. We sat down with Beza to ask her a few questions about herself, her views, and her new role at Nexight.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: My professional background is in the private sector, specifically in consumer goods and manufacturing, and I am passionate about combining technology and communication to address world problems. I specialize in creating technical content, which requires strong communication skills to explain complex information. My experience with data analysis, problem solving, consensus building, and stakeholder engagement allows me to disseminate scientific information for a diverse array of clients.
I am especially excited to be working with Nexight here in the DMV! It is wonderful being back home, as I am originally from Silver Spring, MD. In my free time I enjoy exploring the city, gardening, and swimming.
Q: Why did you decide to join Nexight Group?
A: I love the range of clients that Nexight serves, from government agencies to commercial and non-profit entities. Nexight employees work in so many topic areas—energy, national security, public health, and scientific innovation—and they all have a resounding impact on public welfare. I am excited to work in these fields and use my talents to serve our clients.
Q: Why did you pursue a career in professional consulting?
A: Consulting and manufacturing share some similarities: stakeholder engagement, data-driven decision making, and innovation. Innovation, however, looks different between the two fields. Consulting allows us to customize the services we provide—including landscape research, facilitation, and strategic plans—to fit each client’s needs. While manufacturers manage equipment and processes, consultants can influence the direction and structure of entire organizations. I’m excited about the opportunity to develop meaningful and innovative solutions for our clients.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about your new role at Nexight?
A: I am most looking forward to working with my new coworkers and learning from their years of expertise.
