Nexight Group is happy to welcome Darrel Allen to the team as our new Office Administrator. Darrel has two BA degrees from Syracuse University and strong professional interest in innovative technology development. We sat down with Darrel to ask him a few questions about himself, his views, and his new role at Nexight.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I have over 20 years of administrative experience, with a wide variety of titles and roles, nearly half of which were in the medical industry. My degrees in Psychology and Communications have given me the opportunity to combine the core principles of both disciplines to effectively navigate complex situations, whether that was dealing with emotional patients and/or family members during extremely stressful moments or instilling confidence and reassurance in my team when handling high-pressure situations. I absolutely enjoy tackling complex problems that require you to call upon all your previous experiences and skill sets to reach your desired goals; with a background working in a variety of professional areas, I find myself often pulling all my acquired capabilities together to get the job done.
Born and raised in the DC area, my true number one passion is my kids. When I’m not out-and-about being super-dad, I find my inner smile spending time with my family and friends, jumping on the grill for some great BBQ and drinks, listening to and making music, and competing in various bowling tournaments throughout the country.
Q: Why did you decide to join Nexight Group?
A: I truly am impressed with all that Nexight has accomplished in its relatively short existence and am intrigued to see what’s next to come. People always say that they want change and how they wish they could make a positive difference in the world which we live: Nexight has continuously put actions behind those words in a variety of innovative domains, and to be a part of that change is an opportunity I could never pass up.
Q: Why did you pursue a career in professional consulting?
A: Although my role at Nexight is more behind the scenes, it’s important to me to ensure our consultants have the support they need to provide the best service to our clients that they possibly can. Nexight definitely functions as a team, and each individual factors into the big picture as we serve our many clients. Often it’s the little things that can decide a company’s success or failure; my ability to work in multiple roles on multiple projects really allows me to showcase how I can be an asset to Nexight. It’s that flexibility within operations that I’ve come to thoroughly enjoy.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about your new role at Nexight?
A: Some jobs offer a set schedule in terms of your daily routine, while others are far more dynamic, keeping you on your toes, keeping you fresh and always responding to new and innovative changes. Nexight provides the latter, and looking forward to what’s next has me excited about my role.
