Nexight Group is happy to welcome Miya Ward to the team as a new Associate. Miya has an MBA from Brandeis University and a strong professional interest in writing and editing. We sat down with Miya to ask her a few questions about herself, her views, and her new role at Nexight.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I have an extensive background in writing, editing, and consulting for non-profits and businesses of varying sizes. With a Master of Business Administration from Brandeis University, I strive to use my capacity for developing engaging and effective content to better serve clients operating in a range of industries. My work allows me to use my storytelling capabilities to inform and educate the audience at hand.
I was born and raised in Southern Prince George’s County, Maryland, and when I’m not working diligently on a current project, I enjoy reading, traveling, and gardening.
Q: Why did you decide to join Nexight Group?
A: I admire Nexight’s collaborative environment and how the company serves clients who are doing incredibly interesting and important work in a variety of sectors. Nexight has also created a culture of curiosity where employees are encouraged to learn more about the topics and subject matter that interest them.
Q: Why did you pursue a career in professional consulting?
A: While still in my MBA program, I saw firsthand the positive impact consulting can have on even the smallest organization looking to make a difference in the world. Upon graduation, I wanted to continue being the person to develop solutions that will help these organizations address their current challenges and magnify their effect on certain communities and populations.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about your new role at Nexight?
A: I am most looking forward to working with people who are experts in their field and extremely passionate about what they do.
